The best policy is for you and I to communicate. With all the avenues of communication - phone, email and text messaging - it only make sense to stay in touch and work through any scheduling difficulties that may occur.
No-show or missed appointments: I usually keep a full schedule, thus it is difficult to fill a missed appointment. I make a habit to remind customers by phone, by mail or email that we have an appointment scheduled the next day - but we are all busy people. Sometimes a missed appointment happens. When it does, I must charge a customer $75 for my time.
Cancellations: I require at least a 24-hour notice of a cancellation. This allows me time to schedule work in the time that will be left available. Failure to cancel in time or a no-show is subjected to the fee of $75. Now if you do have an emergency, I will understand - I have family and do work for the University of Kansas, and I know emergencies do happen.
If I am running late to our appointment I will call as soon as I realize I am going to be late. With traffic concerns, a previous appointment taking longer due to repairs, etc., I usually can tell if I am on schedule or not, thus if a call is warranted, I'll call the phone number you provide me.
Payments: Check, cash, major credit cards and Paypal. On estimates, a deposit of 30% is due upon the acceptance of the estimate for amounts of $300 or more. Remainder is due at completion of the work. The estimate fee of $75 is credited toward the balance.
