There are two new files in the Piano Owner's Guide to Repair - if the black keys on your piano are looking worse for wear, you'll want to investigate "Restoring your Black Keys."
The other file describes the installation of the Universal Bass String - these are strings that are used to first, replace the broken bass string in the piano. It can be used as a temporary solution until a custom built replacement string can be ordered and installed.
Sometimes it becomes necessary to replace the keytops of a piano - too many chipped and broken keytops, or they become discolored. I have even had some that a young 5 year old artist decided to draw on them with a magic marker. One of the joys of playing piano is the touch and feel of attractive, good looking key covers.
